An introduction to Rock Climbing - Beginner

The aim of our two day course is to provide and develop the core skills and techniques necessary by introducing you to a number of single pitch rock climbs with the aim of enabling you to become a competent and reliable second. Thus no prior experience is necessary. However we advise that you are reasonably fit and able.

Course includes:

Personalised coaching to develop each client’s ability to safely and competently second rock climbs single pitch and multi-pitch.

  • Climbing harness – putting on and removal and tying the climbing rope into your harness
  • Rope Skills – necessary and suitable knots and the safe use of ropes
  • Belaying – the use of a belay device in both bottom and top rope situation to support a lead climber to arrest falls and lower safely.
  • Abseiling – how to abseil safely using the belay plate and suitable auto block techniques.

The basic Introduction to Rock Climbing course is UK based and can be varied in location to suit clients and prevailing weather conditions. Costs include one night’s bed, breakfast and evening meal, use of specialist equipment and instruction.
