Trekking Challenge // Everest Base Camp
Everest Base Camp Expedition, Nepal
A challenge expedition for both sighted and visually impaired participants
We’ve been lucky to trek in locations all over the world but among our favourites is the Everest Base Camp ‘Classic Route’. This expedition takes you on a journey from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, all the way to the peace and tranquillity of Everest Base Camp. This route consists of visits and stop-overs in locations steeped in Everest’s long climbing history: Lukla, Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastry to name but a few.
Venture Force delivers bespoke and life changing expeditions for young people and adults alike, all with the aim of personal development. Our aim is to provide equality in opportunity and achievement. Our teams of visually impaired and sighted members will work together to achieve their shared goal of successfully reaching Everest Base Camp. The team will be supported all the way by our experienced mountain expedition leaders, our in-country team and our traditional porters and guides.
Teams gradually work their way along the historic route, which culminates under the mighty peak itself. The gradual pace enables clients not only to acclimatise properly but also to get to know other team members, the trekking support team, take in the awe-inspiring surroundings and just enjoy the simple, uncomplicated life that is high mountain trekking!
As never before, it’s time to break from normal life and take on an adventure of a lifetime. Look forward with excited anticipation to travelling with us to a fascinating new destination, joining a team of like-minded people, and pitting yourself against the elements. Our treks, although designed to be challenging, are achievable. You’ll experience invigorating exercise, good food, excellent company, breath-taking scenery, and fresh air.
Join our base camp teams and trek amongst some of the world’s highest mountains. Whether you’re visually impaired or fully sighted join our team – you won’t regret it!
Go on, break free – this adventure is for you. Join us!
Embrace the challenge and remember the unique experience!
This trek is in a very remote area with no vehicular access at all. You’ll need to be physically fit and capable of walking for between 4 and 8 hours a day carrying a 5-8kg rucksack. We provide advice on training to get yourself expedition fit.
You’ll be accommodated in tea houses along the route, which are basic but perfectly adequate and all meals will be included. There will be limited access to electricity for charging devices so be prepared.
Please be aware that as this is an expedition in a remote environment, itinerary changes may occur however, Venture Force will keep these to an absolute minimum.
