Saharan Morocco provides the chance to see Morocco in all its magical and mystic beauty. It combines the chance to wander around the traditional markets and souks of Marrakesh with a glorious trek through the red sands of the Northern Sahara, where the desert meets the High Atlas Mountains.
Marrakesh is a hustling, bustling trading post where Arabia, Africa and Europe meet to trade in the wonders of the world. Traditions built over many years live on in the world heritage site of the Djeema el Fna where souks, markets, story tellers, acrobats, snake charmers, and food stalls combine to provide an assault on one’s senses. This wondrous combination can’t help but take visitors back a century or two.
The immense Todra Gorge slices through the mountains of the High Atlas and gives the perfect gateway to the Northern Sahara and our chance to trek in a different world, a world of red sands, oases, camels and huge night skies. A trek supported by camels and traditional Berber guides. The chance to experience traditional travel and a life style shaped through traditions borne out of necessity.
